CULLAND HALL’S LABOUR OF LOVE
OPEN GARDENS & SPECIALIST PLANT FAIR
Culland Hall, Brailsford, Ashbourne, Derbyshire DE6 3BW
Sunday 16th June 2019, 10am – 3pm
Just six miles outside the Georgian market town of Ashbourne in Derbyshire, but hidden within a maze of country lanes sits Culland Hall. Approached down a classical parkland drive through a herd of Lleyn and Jacob sheep, Culland is home to a magnificent private four acre garden, open to the public for just one day each year.
Owner Lucy Thompson has been nurturing the gardens at Culland for over 20 years now, each year introducing, developing and nurturing this horticultural idyll. With a woodland walk, fernery, hot and white borders (inspired by Sissinghurst) not to mention over 100 different varieties of fragrant roses and handsome wisteria the garden really does seem to be at its’ peak this year.
On the day there will be a hand-picked selection of over 18 specialist nurseries (look out for Chelsea Gold Medalists Edrom debuting at Culland) selling rare plants. With expert advice at hand and Chelsea in our thoughts come and share this quintessential corner of England.
Home-made refreshments are offered throughout the day in the walled kitchen garden.
Entrance: £6.00. Children Free. Free Car Park.
Culland Hall is just 6 miles south of Ashbourne and 7 miles north of Derby, off the A52 at Brailsford and will be well signposted on the day.
