 s we explore the revelatory pottery heritage of Ticknall and the surroundi
 ng clay-rich areas of South Derbyshire\, including Calke\, Derby Hills\, a
 nd Melbourne Common.\n\nFrom the 12th to the 18th centuries\, these areas 
 were bustling with kilns and craftspeople\, churning out everything from e
 veryday butter pots to beautifully decorated wares with secret symbolic me
 anings (yes\, your soup bowl might’ve been deeply spiritual).\n\nWe’ll
  look at:\n\n 	What kinds of pots were made\n 	Where they ended up\n 	Who 
 made them (it was often the same families\, generation after generation!)\
 n 	And what those curious old decorations really meant.\n\nThis talk will 
 be both fascinating and down-to-earth\, because even a broken pot has a st
 ory to tell!\n\nSaturday 15th November Melbourne Assembly Rooms\, Main Hal
