After an active life working as a publisher – some of you may remember the iconic ‘Shell Guides’ (above) – Norman Monahan started a new ‘career’ 40 years ago when he joined the National Trust as a volunteer researcher, which he continues to do.

Ticknall Life is blessed with many contributions from Norman, especially the ‘Baronets’ series which he did with Celia Sanger. You can find all Normans contributions to Ticknall Life here.

I know that I speak for all contributors and regular readers of Ticknall Life magazine in sending good wishes to Norman on reaching his 100th birthday on 8 August 2023.

Congratulations Norman. We are delighted and honoured that you are ‘one of us’.
