It’s a Mobile World

As we move around in public places these days one thing that is noticeable is that almost everyone is fondling a mobile ‘phone or other portable electronic device. Being connected is becoming an essential part of our lives.

It is reported that more than half of web content is now consumed via portable devices.

In the run-up to Christmas 2014 the John Lewis Partnership reported that 72% of their website traffic was from mobile devices.

Like it or not, the world of the web is still moving forward at a break-neck pace. And soon, people in cars will have even more time to surf the web because they will not have to think about driving.

That’s just one of the reasons that the Ticknall Life community website is being re-built to be ‘mobile friendly’.

There are some ‘downsides’ of course; it is inevitable that the content sent to the screen is restricted not only in size but also in type. So if you are viewing on a tiny screen you need to be aware that some items that are available on a desktop size screen will just not be available. And with the best will in the world, navigation is also going to be less convenient.

Anyway, for good or ill, we are all rushing headlong into the future so brace yourselves, folks and enjoy the journey if you can.
