Ticknall Garden Club Update

There was so much to look forward to in the gardening calendar which has been swept away by a cruel pandemic. While our gardens have been a welcome solace it is hard to accept that getting back to normal will take a long time.

We were initially hopeful that club meetings might start up again in September but reluctantly we have decided that this is not possible. The stringent guidelines in place for meetings to take place in Ticknall Village Hall would limit attendance drastically.

We are now planning for our meetings to restart in January. There can be no guarantee but we remain hopeful.

Here is something to look forward to!

Nick Bailey is booked for the February meeting. He is a popular presenter on Gardeners World and an entertaining speaker with a wide background in practical gardening.

And details of another highlight below.

Val and Dave Booth’s garden at 13 Westfield Road Swadlincote DE11 0BG will be open on Sunday August 2nd from 12 to 5 p.m. You can book a visit online at ngs.org.uk or you can walk-in with the correct admission money of £3.50. No refreshments possible though.
