Village Burglaries Epidemic Spreads to Ticknall

Residents should be aware of the number of break-ins that have occurred during the last three weeks in villages nearby:

During the period January 23 to 29 there were 7 incidents in Findern, Repton Willington and Bretby.

Most of the break ins occurred during the day and most involved forced entry by smashing windows or doors.

More burglaries occurred during the period 11 to 15th Feb, mainly in the village of Aston (4) but also in Bretby, Milton and Melbourne, where a BMW was stolen.

Today, 20th February the criminals have visited High St. in Ticknall where 2 motorbikes were stolen from a locked garage. The theft occurred about 12.50 and involved 2/3 people in a white Transit van. A registration number is known.

Villagers are asked to be vigilant as the crime wave appears to be gathering momentum as it spreads across South Derbyshire villages.
