Around the village of Ticknall, we are blessed with the finest walking country in South Derbyshire. Lots of walkers visit the area to search out Ticknall walks to learn about the history and topography of this fascinating area south of the River Trent, especially In the summer months.
In 2021 I started guided walks that reveal the beautiful landscape around Ticknall and we have visited a number of places of interest such as Staunton Harold, the Ticknall Limeyards, Calke Park, Robin Wood, Knowle Hill and Anchor Church caves.
Distances are typically five to eight miles with mostly moderate-to-easy going. There are no mountains in South Derbyshire, so you don’t need to worry about difficult terrain.
